Two For Life: News

JAY'S SAX PLAYING AIRED ON RADIO! - May 15, 2008

A while back, Jay was asked to play saxophone for two songs on a CD being produced by a Christian musician from Brookings, SD named Jason Jahn. He recently received an e-mail from Jason saying those two songs are now getting aired by the Jazz Music Director on Northern Arizona University's Radio Station K-JACK. If you would like a copy of Jason's CD, contact Jay through this web site and he will send Jason's e-mail address to you. Two for Life prays that many people will be reached for Jesus through this opportunity God has afforded Jason and Jay!

GOD IS GOOD! - March 14, 2008

Two for Life's tour to Alabama and Florida was certainly a blessing! Not only were lives touched with the Good News of Jesus, but Jay and Jodi got to visit places they've never been to before! In the meantime, their April tour is booked for Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland and they are still in the process of booking a mid-west tour for July and August AND a Texas tour in October! PLUS, they have been asked to perform for 1100 women at the Council of Lutheran Women's Annual Women of the Year Luncheon in Detroit, MI next January. Jay and Jodi have always said that they will continue this ministry as long as God continues to provide opportunities for them to do so. As of now, it doesn't look like He wants them to stop anytime soon! Thank you all for your continued support of prayer and referrals! God bless!

THINGS ARE GETTING CRAZY FOR TWO FOR LIFE - January 4, 2008

As this is being written, Jay and Jodi are in the process of booking THREE tours! One in February to Alabama and Florida, one in April to N. Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana and one in August to Nebraska, Iowa and S. Dakota. Since Two for Life spends no money on advertising, they rely solely on word of mouth. If you know of any contacts they could make in the aforementioned areas, please e-mail them at twoforlife@twoforlife.com Thanks and God bless!

HOME IN TENNESSEE - August 8, 2007

We have a new home address! Second Corinthians 5 says "we have a building from God, an ETERNAL house in heaven, not built by human hands." But even now, God has provided us with an EARTHLY dwelling in Tennessee – praise His name! Our new address as of August 21st will be 721 Lancaster Drive, Spring Hill, Tennessee, 37174.

We constantly remind ourselves that God is in control during our time of transition. Our concert calendar is empty after August 19th. Please pray that our Heavenly Provider will supply our every need, including concert bookings, new friends, financial support, and His Spirit and peace.

JAY & JODI'S HOUSE (MOBILE HOME) IS SOLD! - June 18, 2007

Two for Life thanks everyone who has been praying about the details of their move. Their home sold quickly and they will be moving out the 26th of June. Except for a two week visit to Nashville the end of July to look for housing, concert commitments will keep Two for Life in the mid-west area until August 20th. Thanks to family and friends, Two for Life won't be forced to rent a room at the "Y"! God is good, plans are moving ahead smoothly and your prayers are still graciously desired!

TWO FOR LIFE RE-LOCATING TO NASHVILLE - April 24, 2007

Through prayer and careful consideration, Two for Life will be moving to the Nashville area by the end of this August. God has blessed this ministry mightily and Jay and Jodi feel they can expand their outreach with this move. They ask for prayers for the sale of their home, for the procurement of a place to live in Nashville, and for a smooth transition of their ministry. We will keep you posted as to our progress! God bless all you wonderful supporters!

SOUTHWEST/PACIFIC NORTHWEST TOUR A SUCCESS - March 16, 2007

After 49 days, 14 states and 29 performances, Two for Life returned home safely from tour. Friends were made (see the PHOTOS page), hearts were touched, and lives were changed, as God worked through Jay and Jodi in marvelous ways! The tour not only consisted of concerts, but Two for Life also led worship services and school chapel services. They were able to visit many of the Association Free Lutheran mission churches as well. The trip ended in the Portland, Oregon area where Jay and Jodi were able to spend a week with their daughter, Samantha and her husband, Jarrod. All in all, the tour was a great blessing for all!

GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN… - November 26, 2006

Or in Illinois, or in Iowa…Two For Life is privileged to be scheduled for eight Christmas concerts and two New Year's Eve parties in 2006. It's a great time of year to share the Gospel! For one thing, talking about the reason for the Christmas holiday and Christ's birth is an open opportunity to witness. Besides that, the favorite music of the season is filled with Good News (even if people don't realize it!).

CZECH IT OUT - November 19, 2006

Interested in seeing a movie of Two For Life's Czech mission trip? Jodi just finished production of a 16-minute DVD showing highlights of their trip, scenic footage of Poland and Czech Republic, and some fun moments at the youth camps and Bible Institute where they ministered. Also included on the DVD is a slide show of their adventures. Two For Life would be happy to come to your church and show the DVD as part of a concert program. Or, you can purchase a DVD for yourself ($5)!

SOUTHWEST/PACIFIC NORTHWEST TOUR BEING BOOKED - September 22, 2006

Two for Life will be on tour throughout the southwest and Pacific northwest in January and February of 2007. If you have any referrals in Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon or Washington, please contact Two for Life via this web site. Thanks!

NEW CD'S TO BE RELEASED IN DECEMBER - September 22, 2006

Two for Life is currently in the process of another recording project. Two, in fact! One CD, (Grace Upon Grace), will be comprised mostly of the music they perform in concert. The other will be a long requested Christmas CD. Look for these to be released sometime in December. Also, their CD's may now be purchased directly from their web site.

TWO FOR LIFE IN TOP 20! - September 22, 2006

Two for Life, as World Vision Artist Associates, provide at each of their concerts (and via their web site "Home" page), the opportunity for audience members to sponsor a child through the Christian relief organization, World Vision. (See April 13 article, GIVE A CHILD HOPE below). We are happy to announce, out of the hundreds of artists that do this, Two for Life is in the top 20% in sponsorships gained! They thank God for this blessing and pray that more and more people will be willing to put their faith into action by sponsoring a child!

MISSION TRIP A GREAT BLESSING - August 9, 2006

Through their home church's relationship with Trinec Silesian Lutheran Church, Czech Republic, Jay & Jodi were invited to participate in an annual summer youth camp in Smilovice, Czech Republic. (Jay and Jodi traveled with their pastor, Michael Brandt, who served as evangelistic speaker for the camp.) This camp ministers to hundreds of teenaged youth as well as many adults from the Czech Republic and nearby Slovakia and Poland. The camp schedule includes worship, teaching seminars, Christian speakers and musicians, small group devotions, and recreational activities for youth and children.
Jay and Jodi were invited to give an afternoon concert, to share testimony and music for an evening concert, and to teach two seminars (one on marriage, and one for adult children of divorce). For camp highlights, pictures, and downloads of the sermons and seminars, visit: www.ks-sch.cz/smilovice/index.php?mode=intro&lang=eng
Through contacts with other missions in the area, God led Two For Life to Ustron, Poland for a Bible Retreat Institute group for an evening concert, and to Zelow, Poland for another youth camp concert as well.

FUN TRIP TRIVIA! - August 8, 2006

1) Jay, Jodi & Pastor Mike got in on a record heat wave. July 28 headline: "Europe Swelters As Heat Wave Continues" – how awesome is that! (Oh, . . air conditioning is NOT the norm!)
2) Hot tea and coffee ARE normal drinks there during the summer. We were told hot liquids help you sweat and actually cool you off. (Jay says he didn't NEED any help sweating in 96 degree temperatures, thank you very much!)
3) In multi-level buildings, the main floor is 0. Going down is -1, -2, -3, etc.!
4) The Polish alphabet contains letters X and Q but there are NO Polish words that use them! (They are needed in order for them to be able to read words in other languages.)
5) Rowhouse apartments in Amsterdam are so narrow you can't get furniture through the doors and hallways. It has to be hoisted by crane and brought in through the upstairs windows!
6) All guns are outlawed in Amsterdam and honking your car horn is illegal, too! Hunting is illegal in the Czech Republic unless you belong to an exclusive (and expensive) hunting club!

THE STORY YOU'VE BEEN ASKING FOR! - August 7, 2006

"P" Pod Parable (based on Luke 8:4-15) copyright 2005 by Jay Marcum
A prominent, pre-existent Perfect Person preached this profound parable: “On the perfect possibility to plant a plentiful product, a perceptive and peppy plow-jockey, proceeded to his plot with the plump pods he possessed and purposed to plop them on their precise and preferred positions.
Part of the particles plummeted upon a pounded path, posthaste producing pouncing upon by preoccupied passersby and plucking-up by pretty, plumed predators.
Some pieces of the producing plenitude prostrated upon pebbles, and upon protrudence, preferred a profusion of precipitation but were painfully prohibited and pitifully parched.
Still other pods pranced upon poking-out pricklies, thus becoming pinched of proper pabulum, promising prompt passing!
Some pods, however, plopped perfectly on the planet, producing a prodigious pile of produce more plentiful than previously projected."
After preaching this parable, the Perfect Person proclaimed: “Persons with protruding appendages purposed for picking up palpable peals, permit them to perceive!”
Twelve people, previously picked by the Perfect Person, perplexed by the profound pod parable, pleaded for precise de-puzzling. “Pray tell!” they prodded.
The Perfect Person promptly professed, “The principles of the province of the Pre-Eminent Papa, are proven to you, but to petulant parasites I preach in parables! Permit me to publicize!
The pods are the Pre-Eminent Papa’s preachings. People on the pounded path perceive perfectly, but the primary prevaricator pilfers the payload from their pulmonary pumper and so they painfully pretend, and are not preserved.
People on the pebbles perceive with pleasure but have no profound prodigious penetration so when persecuted they pack it in!
People on the poking out pricklies perceive but are pinched by their problems, so perish and do not prosper.
But people plopped perfectly on the planet are pure. They perceive, persevere, and are preserved producing a plentiful product!"
So what’s the precept of this parable? Preferring to plummet on perfect planetary positions, prompts the preachings of the Pre-Eminent Papa to preserve your pulmonary pumper posthumously!

GIVE A CHILD HOPE - April 13, 2006

Two For Life has partnered with World Vision as Artist Associates, speaking out on behalf of children all over the world who live in impoverished communities.
There is a desperate need in our world to show God's love in action and to give the hope of Jesus Christ through generosity and compassion. By sharing this need with their audiences, Jay and Jodi pray that their ministry will have long-lasting, eternal effects!
